Southern Springs and Pressings Limited invest in new IT system
Southern Springs and Pressings Limited (SSP) have developed a new automated IT system to enhance the production processes across the business.
The introduction of Industry 4.0 (4th industrial revolution) has resulted in the need for the manufacturing sector to develop smart factories in order to remain competitive and to develop products for the future. With this in mind, SSP have been developing strategies to improve internal systems and their manufacturing capabilities for the future.
SSP have been working on a bespoke IT system which ensures they keep track of all their customer orders and stock levels. The information is updated automatically and displayed throughout the factory, ensuring ‘real time’ information can be accessed by multiple channels and on various devices.
Tim Page, Managing Director said “Developing new products and processes is key to the development of SSP, we worked closely with our IT provider to build a simple and cost-effective system to allow data to be shared around the factory in real-time."
